Mitch Krywulycz

One of the top young coaches in the country and a former two-time NCAA champion golfer at Augusta University, Mitch Krywulycz (pronounced CRY-vole-ITCH) enters his eighth year as Head Men’s Golf Coach at the College of Charleston in 2025-2026.

A three time CAA Coach of the Year, Krywulycz led the Cougars to league titles in 2021, 2022. and 2024. Since arriving at CofC, he's taken the Cougars to multiple NCAA Regionals and a berth in the NCAA National Championship for the first time since 2001 in 2022.

In 2025, he led the Cougars to back-to-back NCAA Regional appearances for the first time since 2021 and 2022. It was program's first-ever at-large appearance in the NCAA Regionals and the program's tenth overall appearance in a regional.

He coached one of the greatest student-athletes to ever come through Charleston in Kieron van Wyk, who made history as the only student athlete to secure three CAA Golfer of the Year awards. He was the first active Cougar to participate on the PGA Tour. 

Following the program's seventh CAA title in 2024, Krywulycz was named CAA Coach of the Year while coaching CAA individual co-champions Kieron van Wyk and Zach Reuland. It was both golfers' second indivudal titles under Krywulycz with van Wyk last winning in 2022 and Reuland in 2021.

Krywulycz has guided back-to-back CAA Golfers of the Year and individual CAA Champions in Zach Reuland and Kieron van Wyk. Those two and Ruiter gave the Cougars a trio of First Team All-CAA honorees in the same season for the first time in program history in 2021-22. 

In his first season with the Cougars in 2018-19, the program made five Top-5 finishes winning tournament titles at The Invitational at The Ocean Course and CSU East Bay Deli Classic. Logan Sowell became the sixth player in program history to qualify for NCAA Regionals as an individual and was named to the All-Colonial Athletic Association First Team along with Hunter Dunagan. CofC was also ranked as high as No. 31 in the Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll.
 
Krywulycz played five years on the professional circuit including a tournament win on the PGA Latin America Tour.
 
Prior to his appointment at CofC, he spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Purdue University from 2016-18. Krywulycz helped the Boilermakers to their sixth-straight NCAA Regionals appearance and a Big Ten Conference Match Play Championship title. The squad also posted the highest team grade-point average of any Purdue athletic program for both the fall and spring semesters.
 
During his first year in West Lafayette in 2016-17, Krywulycz helped Purdue to its third NCAA National Championship appearance in the last four years. The Boilermakers produced the second-best stroke average (290.26) and the highest percentage of rounds under or even par (12-of-35) in school history. Three golfers finished in the Top 15 of the single-season stroke average chart and earned PING All-Midwest Region accolades.
 
Krywulycz also excelled on the recruiting trail helping Purdue sign one of its top classes in school history. His efforts were instrumental in landing Jason Hong, one of Australia’s top amateurs, for the Class of 2017.
 
A former student-athlete at Augusta State from 2007-11, Krywulycz helped lead the Jaguars to back-to-back national championship titles in 2010 and 2011. He secured victories in both national championship matches including a down-to-the-wire victory to clinch the 2010 national title.
 
Following his time at Augusta State, Krywulycz grabbed two Top-20 finishes in his first season on the eGolf Tour before landing consecutive Top-5 placements in 2012.
 
He finally broke through in 2013 by winning The Sedgefield Classic for his first professional victory. Krywulycz also competed in the Web.com Tour qualifying tournament and advanced to the final stage.
 
From 2014-15, Krywulycz was a member of the PGA Latin America Tour, before earning full status for 2016. He won the 2015 Volvo Colombian Classic and turned in a runner-up finish at the 2014 Ecuador Open.
 
He joined the Augusta coaching staff as an assistant coach in January 2016, helping the Jaguars to a NCAA Regional berth in Stillwater, Oklahoma, where the Jaguars missed another NCAA Championship berth. They finished sixth and just two shots back of Purdue for the final qualifying berth to nationals.
 
Originally from Sydney, Australia, Krywulycz earned his bachelor’s degree in sociology from Augusta State in 2011. There, he was a four-year member of the ASU Student Athletic Advisory Council (SAAC). Krywulycz is married to Kristen Davee Krywulycz and the couple resides in Charleston.
