CofC Women?s Golf Finishes Tied for 11th at Edwin Watts/Palmetto Intercollegiate

Fiona Puyo and Steffi Kirchmayr fired a 232 each in three rounds to tie for 26th and lead the College of Charleston women's golf team to a tie for 11th at the end of the Edwin Watts/Palmetto Intercollegiate held Oct. 29-30 at the Oak Point golf Course in Kiawah Island, S.C. East Carolina (906) edged Nebraska (909) by three strokes to take the trophy. Charleston totaled a 989 in the three rounds to tie with Campbell and Chattanooga.
Nebraska's J.C. Stevens took individual medalist honors after firing a 216, which included a 70 in the second and third rounds.
Following Cougars Puyo and Kirchmayr was Joanna Klatten with her 236 to tie for 38th. Tied for 65th was Emily Rapp with her 244 and tied for 80th was Courtney Brink with her 249. A couple of Cougars competed as individuals with Kati Scholten finished tied for 93rd with a 256 and Kelly White totaling a 261 for 97th place.
The Cougars are off for the winter and will resume in the spring with the Cuthbert Cup to be held at Osprey Point Feb. 24-26, 2008.
