
Cougar Equestrians Ride to Big Win at Georgia Southern

The College of Charleston Equestrian Team posted a 13 point win over host Georgia Southern at their Spring IHSA horse show.
The team was led by High Point Rider of the Day senior Julia Nichols. Julia won Open Flat (SEC B) and Intermediate Fences. Sophomore Amanda Overholt won Open Fences while freshman Crystal Threlfall won Novices Fences (Sec. A).
Senior Meredith Clote easily won Intermediate Flat (Sec. A) with sophomore Rachel Kutler and freshman Caitlin Smith winning their respective sections of Novice Flat. The Cougars capped a near perfect day with wins by their two remaining riders, freshmen Whitney Malcolm in Walk, Trot, Canter and Allie O'Donnell in Walk, Trot.
The team has increased its lead in the region to 19 points over second place SCAD with one show remaining on March 15, hosted by the College of Charleston at Storybook Farm.
