
College of Charleston Places Sixth at Danmark Trophy

The College of Charleston sailing team posted 261 points in two divisions to finish sixth at the Danmark Trophy Regatta held Oct. 3-4 at the Coast Guard Academy in New London, Conn. Yale won the event with 156 points.
Jackson Benvenutti and Christina Murray sailed in the A-Division and came away with 139 points for eighth. In 15 races, Charleston finished in the top six in five of them, including a win in the 11th.
Charleston used the duo of Christopher Mace and Corinna DeCollibus to lead the B-Division to sixth with 122 points. They had 11 top 10 finishes, including four top fours.
The Cougars next travel to Geneva, N.Y. Oct 10-11 for the Hobart Intersectional, as well as to Wakefield, R.I. for the Moody Trophy Regatta. Charleston is also competing at North Points #4 in Wilmington, N.C., and hosting the SAISA Sloop Championships.
