Sailing Ends Fall Season with SAISA/MAISA Win

The College of Charleston sailing team won 15 races, including 10 in the A-Division, to earn the win at the SAISA/MAISA Regatta held Nov. 21-22 at the J. Stewart Walker Sailing Center in Mt. Pleasant, S.C. Charleston posted 94 points, 13 ahead of second-place South Florida.
Cameron Hall (St. Petersburg, Fla.), Alexis Scott (Newport Beach, Calif.) and Kip Watson (Duxbury, Mass.) sailed in the A-Division and came away with the win with 31 points. Ocean County came in second with 59 points in the two-day event.
Christopher Banholzer (Hartland, Wisc.), Sarah Somes (Grosse Point Park, Mich.) and Jeff Aschieris (Newport Beach, Calif.) sailed in the B-Division and led the Cougars to second with 63 points. South Florida earned the divisional win with 40 points.
Charleston is off for the winter and resumes action Jan. 2-3, 2010, at the Rose Bowl Regatta in Long Beach, Calif.
