
College of Charleston Sailing Second at SAISA Women's Championship

The College of Charleston sailing team won 10 races and placed in the top 5 in 15 others to finish second at the SAISA Women's Championship held Sept. 26-27 at the J. Stewart Walker Sailing Center in Mt. Pleasant, S.C. Eckerd edged the Cougars by one point for the win. Charleston finished with 58 points.
Shannon Heausler and Rebecca Bestoso posted 27 points to win the A-Division, while Corey Hall and Caroline Warren came away with 31 points for second in the B-Division.
The College of Charleston travels to New London, Conn. Oct. 3-4 for the Danmark trophy Regatta, as well as to Miami, Fla., for the SAISA Men's Singlehanded Championship. The Cougars also host the T.S. Stern Sloop Regatta at the J. Stewart Walker Sailing Center.
