Cougars Post Two Wins in Weekend Events

The College of Charleston sailing team swept the A and B-Divisions in both regattas to take first at North Points #4 held at Clemson, S.C., as well as MAISA/SAISA held in Hampton, Va. Charleston scored 49 points at SAISA/MAISA, held Mar. 27-28, which was 33 ahead of second-place Old Dominion and South Florida. The Cougars' 29 points at North Points #4, held Mar. 27, was nine ahead of Vanderbilt, which finished second with 38 points.
The Cougars, in the A-Division under Chris Banholzer (Hartland, Wisc.) and Sarah Scudder (Mamaroneck, N.Y.), had one win and two second-place finishes to score 20 points and the win at North Points #4. In the B-Division, with Brooks Clark (Newport Beach, Calif.) and Laura Beigel (Severna Park, Md.), the Cougars posted three wins and three second-place finishes to score nine points and the win as well.
Erik Bowers (Excelsior, Minn.) and Caroline Warren (Charleston, S.C.) led the Cougars in the A-Division to first with 29 points, posting six wins and four other top five finishes at MAISA/SAISA. Cameron Hall (St. Petersburg, Fla.) and Deborah Ong (Singapore) won four races and placed second in five others to secure first in the B-Division with 20 points.
Charleston is next in action April 3-4 at the Ted Ferrarone Team Race in Newport, R.I., the Southern New England Team Race in New London, Conn., and the Dellenbaugh Women's Intersectional in Providence, R.I.
