Fischer Leads Cougars To 63-45 Victory Over Wofford

The Cougars (8-18, 5-12) have now won two of their last three games in Southern Conference play and used a balanced scoring attack to take down the Terriers (7-17, 3-13). Senior Tonia Gerty (Port Orange, Fla.) registered 13 points, six assists and six rebounds in the winning cause, while sophomore Cathryn Hardy (Dayton, Ohio) added 10 points and four of the team's 15 steals in the ballgame.
"It was an equal-balanced effort tonight," CofC Head Coach Nancy Wilson said. "We played great defense, kept our turnovers down and had different players answer on the offensive end."
The Cougars caused the Terriers to commit 19 turnovers in which they converted into 24 points. Both teams split the series this season and have three games remaining on their regular-season slate.
Up next, CofC travels to Georgia Southern for a midweek road swing on Wednesday, Feb. 16 in Statesboro, Ga. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. (ET) at Hanner Fieldhouse.
