SPARTANBURG, S.C. - College of Charleston senior All-America candidate Andrew Goudelock (Stone Mountain, Ga.), head coach Bobby Cremins, senior Donavan Monroe (Waxhaw, N.C.) and freshman Trent Wiedeman (Suwanee, Ga.) were among the honorees as the 2010-11 Southern Conference men's basketball postseason awards were announced on Wednesday in vote by the league's head coaches.

Goudelock and Cremins led the Cougars (22-9) to a share of the South Division regular-season championship title with a 14-4 league mark for the first time since 2004. Goudelock earned SoCon Player of the Year honors for the first time of his career, while Cremins was selected as SoCon Coach of the Year by his coaching peers.

Goudelock currently ranks fifth nationally averaging 23.0 points per game which is also tops among league scoring leaders. He has scored in double figures in 30 of the Cougars' 31 games this season and has topped the 20-point plateau on 23 occasions. Goudelock scored at least 30 points in four different games including a career-high 34 points at Elon on Feb. 10. He also ranks fourth nationally in three-point field goals made (3.4 avg) and has recorded 2,407 career points to date which ranks sixth all-time in the SoCon record books. Goudelock becomes the first Cougar to earn Coaches Player of the Year honors since Troy Wheless in 2003-03.

Cremins, in his fifth season at The College, guided the Cougars to a season-best seven-game winning streak, a non-conference road upset at Tennessee on Dec. 31, wins over 2010 NCAA Tournament teams in UT, East Tennessee State, defending SoCon champion Wofford (twice) and Vermont, a 12-1 home record including five sell-out games at Carolina First Arena and a season-high No. 61 rating in the NCAA Division I RPI Rankings. CofC is also currently one of the top 25 NCAA statistical leaders in scoring offense (24th, 76.8), field-goal percentage (11th, 48.1), three-point field goals per game (20th, 8.2) and personal fouls per game (8th, 15.0). It was his first career CofC coaching honor as Cremins previously won the league's Anton Foy Award, given to the league's top coach as voted by the media, while the head coach at Appalachian State in 1976, 1978 and 1981. Legendary CofC head coach John Kresse last won COTY honors in 1998-99.

Goudelock was also named to the all-conference team for third year in a row along with Wofford's Noah Dahlman and The Citadel's Cameron Wells (The Citadel). The trio were joined by Monroe, Furman's Amu Saaka, Appalachian State's Donald Sims, Appalachian State's Omar Carter, Elon's Chris Long, Chattanooga's Omar Wattad and Western Carolina's Mike Williams.

Monroe, who moved into the top 15 all-time in career scoring (eighth all-time in CofC Division I history) with 1,282 career points to date, dished out a career-best 82 assists this season and is third on the team in scoring averaging 11.6 points per game. He is also tied for 10th all-time in career three-pointers made (121).

Wiedeman garnered a spot on the all-freshman team after playing all 31 games of the season with nine starts for the Cougars. He currently ranks fifth on the team in scoring (7.6 ppg) and first in rebounding (6.3 rpg). Wiedeman recorded two double-doubles this season and notched a career-high 18 points versus UNC Greensboro on Feb. 12.

The 2011 SoCon Men's Basketball Tournament will begin on Friday, March 4, at McKenzie Arena in Chattanooga, Tenn. The Cougars, who are the No. 1 South Division seed, will face the winner of Elon or The Citadel in the quarterfinals on Saturday, March 5 at approximately 9:30 p.m. (ET).
