Equestrians Win Day One at South Carolina Fall IHSA Show

BLYTHEWOOD, S.C. – The College of Charleston equestrian team rode to high point team honors on day one of the two-day South Carolina Fall IHSA Show held at Three Fox Farm over the weekend.

The Cougars put up 36 points followed by Converse College in second with 34 points and South Carolina in third with 31 points.

"The team rode extremely well and just weren't being rewarded for it," CofC Head Coach Bob Story said. "Our team persevered and it finally started to pay off for them."

Sophomore Sophie Meserve (Portsmouth, N.H.) won her section of Intermediate Flat, while freshman Kate Zuckerman followed with a win in Novice Flat (Section B) and sophomore Emilia Vawter (Goshen, Ky.) a win in Novice Flat (Section C).

Freshman Annika Vilcins (Wilmington, N.C.) took the blue in Beginner Walk/Trot/Canter, while freshman Addie Miller closed out the day with a win in Advanced Walk/Trot/Canter.
