CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston sailing team finished third at the Southern Collegiate Offshore Regatta (SCOR) on Sunday after entering the day tied for the lead.
"We worked very hard out on the water both days and found some really good results," said junior Keenan Hilsinger. "I felt like our boat handling was top notch along with our boat speed. The end result wasn't exactly what we were looking for, but we are happy with it and even more excited to build on it. As a team, we hope to carry this momentum out to the west coast."
Freshman Jordan Wiggins (York, S.C.) skippered the Cougars, along with his crew of sophomore main trim/tactician William Hundahl (Marblehead, Mass.), senior primary trim Sean Hannigan (Annapolis, Md.), junior secondary trim Julia Lines (Southampton, Bermuda), junior pit Audrey Webb (Marion, Mass.), sophomore mast Shane Kilberg (Baltimore, Md.), junior bow Keenan Hilsinger (Brooklin, Maine), and junior squirrel Jamie Craven (Miami, Fla.).
The Cougars will travel to St. Petersburg, Fla. for a pair of regattas next weekend, as CofC will participate in the USF Women's and the SAISA Open on Saturday and Sunday, February 18-19.
