Rainey Top Finisher For Cougars at Schenkel Invitational

STATESBORO, Ga. – Senior William Rainey (Charlotte, N.C.) was the top College of Charleston finisher at the Schenkel Invitational hosted by Georgia Southern at the Forest Heights Country Club on Sunday.
Rainey carded rounds of 68, 70 and 74 to shoot 4-under par for the tournament and finish tied for 12th individually. Freshman Hunter Dunagan (Augusta, Ga.) finished inside the Top 25 at even par for the tournament with rounds of 70, 71 and 75 (tied for 24th).
As a team, the Cougars placed 11th in a competitive field from top-to-bottom with an 874 (+10) ahead of East Tennessee State (+11), Notre Dame (+24) and Kansas State (+38).
CofC will next compete at The Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate on March 26-28 at Bulls Bay Golf Club in Awendaw, S.C.
