
Cougars Wrap Up Tough Weekend In Northeast

CRANSTON, R.I. --- The College of Charleston sailing team finished third at the Dellenbaugh Women's, and sixth at the 36th Lynne Marchiando Team Race to conclude a challenging weekend in Cranston, R.I. and Cambridge, Mass.
The Cougars placed third at Dellenbaugh Women's with 112 points – 10 points ahead of fourth-place Vermont. Junior Paris Henken (Coronado, Calif.) skippered The College to 59 points in A-Division with crew of senior Irene Abascal (Guatemala City, Guatemala) and freshman Kelly-Ann Arrindell (Port-of-Spain, Trinidad). Skipper Allie Toppa and crew Caroline Bracken (Bridgewater, Mass.) finished second in B-Division with 53 points.
At the Lynne Marchiando Team Race, the Cougars finished the weekend with a 5-9 record for the weekend. Stefano Peschiera (Lima, Peru), Jack Cusick (Fairfield, Conn.), and Christophe Killian (Newport Beach, Calif.) skippered for the Cougars, with Grace McCarthy (San Diego, Calif.), Chloe Dapp (Newport Beach, Calif.), and Elizabeth Pemberton (Osterville, Mass.) serving as crew.
The Cougars will sail in three regattas next weekend, including the Emily Wick Women's on April 8 and 9 in New London, Conn. Charleston will also host the SAISA Team Race Championships on April 8 and the SAISA Coed on April 9 at the J. Stewart Walker Sailing Complex.
