LEXINGTON, KY. – Julisa Tindall wrapped up her collegiate career on Saturday, fighting her way to a 25th place finish at the NCAA East Preliminaries, hosted by the University of Kentucky.
Tindall cleared 1.64m on her first attempt, and then grinded out clearances at her next two heights. The senior passed cleanly over the bar at 1.69m on her third attempt, before again taking all three tries to sail over 1.74m.
"Julisa did an outstanding job battling throughout the entire competition," assistant coach Mike Tornifolio said. "To clear several bars on third attempts to remain in it really showed her competitive spirit. I'm very proud of her, and it's been an amazing three years working with such an outstanding young lady."
Tatiana Gusin and Madeline Fagan of Georgia tied for the victory with a first place height of 1.82m.
Tindall ties things off as the CofC school record holder in the high jump in both indoor and outdoor, with a personal best height of 1.84m. She won back-to-back CAA high jump championships as a sophomore and junior, and took silver at this year's meet. Tindall's dominant sophomore campaign earned her a trip to the 2015 USATF Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore.
"We are very proud of Julisa for her contributions to the program over the past four years," head coach Amy Seago said. "She has certainly left a lasting mark on this team and we wish her well in her future endeavors. She'll always be able to call Charleston home."
