Sowell placed 14th overall in the 68-player field comprised of four Top 55-ranked golfers. It marked his third Top-20 finish this season next to tied for 18th at the Battle at Stono Ferry in the fall and tied for second at the Loyola Maryland Intercollegiate in February.
Freshman Reed Bentley (Spartanburg, S.C.) also made a climb on the individual leaderboard with a final-round 70 with seven birdies to tie sophomore teammate Hunter Dunagan (Augusta, Ga.) for 27th (+1).

No. 29-ranked Duke won the team title with an 828 (-36) followed by runner-up and No. 28 Wake Forest (-30) and third-place and No. 35 NC State (-20).
"Congrats to the women's golf team for winning the CAA championship today," CofC Head Coach Mark McEntire said. "Great playing and hope this spurs our guys next week in Raleigh. We had a solid day today. I saw some good things that we can use to get ready to play the CAA Men's Golf Championship. It was great to see some under-par rounds and I feel like we will be ready to go to work next week."
The Cougars conclude the regular season and will look to defend their conference tournament title for the fifth-straight year at the upcoming 2018 Colonial Athletic Association Men's Golf Championship to be held on April 20-22 at the Lonnie Poole Golf Course in Raleigh, N.C.
