Cougars to Set Sail in Four Regattas

CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The College of Charleston sailing team will compete in four regattas this weekend, including North Points #3 on Saturday, September 29 in Columbia, S.C.; SAISA Match Race on Saturday in St. Petersburg, Fla.; Women's Showcase Semifinals on Saturday and Sunday in Annapolis, Md.; and the Danmark Trophy on Saturday and Sunday in New London, Conn.

Junior Patrick Shannon (Newport Beach, Calif.) will skipper A-Division for the Cougars at North Points #3 alongside freshman crew Jack Sutton. Freshman skipper Kaelin Stock and sophomore crew Austin Googer will sail in B-Division for The College.

Junior Will Curtiss (Lake Bluff, Ill.), senior RJ Porter (Fontana, Wis.), sophomore Oliver Parsons (Stonington, Conn.), and junior Laura Masterson (Kemah, Texas) will represent the Cougars at SAISA Match Race on Saturday in St. Petersburg, Fla.

At the Women's Showcase Semifinals in Annapolis, junior Allie Toppa (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) will skipper A-Division with senior crew Annabel Carrington (White Stone, Va.) and sophomore alternate Marian Williams (Sai Kung, Hong Kong, China). Junior skipper Liza Toppa (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.), senior crew Caroline Bracken (Bridgewater, Mass.), and senior alternate Elizabeth Mignon (Bay Head, N.J.) will represent the Cougars in B-Division.

Sophomore Jack Brown (Newtown Square, Pa.) will skipper A-Division as the Cougars seek to defend their Danmark Trophy win from a season ago on Saturday and Sunday in New London, Conn. Sophomore Mary Morano (Edgartown, Mass.) will crew for Brown in A-Division, while sophomore skipper Ryan Ratliffe and sophomore crew Hannah Kinder (Portsmouth, R.I.) will sail in B-Division.
