
Charleston Takes Second at Larchmont Offshore

LARCHMONT, N.Y. --- The College of Charleston offshore team placed second in a 25-mile race aboard a Figaro 2 and the women's team finished fifth at the extremely competitive Jen Harris Women's Showcase Finals to highlight another strong weekend for the Cougars.
Helm Skye Ehrhart led the Cougars to a second-place performance in a Figaro 2 at the Larchmont Intercollegiate Offshore on Saturday and Sunday in Larchmont, N.Y. Sailing aboard the Figaro 2 as well were navigator/trimmer Burke Anvari, headsail trimmer Graham Post and bow Caroline Williams. The Cougars also placed seventh in J105 buoy racing with helm Jordan Wiggins leading the way. He was joined by main trim William Comerford, headsail trim Sam Tobio, pit Maggie Wilcox, mast Cade Morris and bow Key Becker.
Charleston turned in a fifth-place finish at the ever-competitive Jen Harris Women's Showcase Finals on Saturday and Sunday in Annapolis, Md. The Cougars finished the regatta five points behind fourth-place Cornell with a total of 153 points. Senior Alie Toppa skippered the Cougars to fifth in A-Division with 70 points and five top-five finishes alongside junior crew Hannah Kinder. Junior skipper Marian Williams and sophomore crew Natasha Scott Morton placed seventh in B-Division with 83 points.
The Cougars are back on the water next weekend at the Yale Women's on Saturday and Sunday in New Haven, Conn. and the Coed Showcase Finals on Saturday and Sunday in New London, Conn.
