The Short Story: The Cougars overcame a 20-point deficit to take down High Point on the road for their first win of the season backed behind sophomore Latrice Perkins' career night.

QUICK FACTS

Sophomore Latrice Perkins logged her second double-double of the season with a 29-point 10 rebound performance. She is the first Cougar to score at least 29 points since 2015.
Sophomore Tyler Collins recorded a season-high 18 points and also snagged seven rebounds while freshman Taylor Williams poured in 12 points.
The College outrebounded High Point 46-40.
The Cougars overcame a 20-point deficit to get the win in overtime.
This game marked the first time since 2017 (vs. W&M) that the Cougars have gone into overtime.
Sophomore Arynn Eady brought in a season-high 11 rebounds, including six offensive boards.

HOW IT HAPPENED

High Point started the game off with a 12-4 run through the first seven minutes of the game.
After being down by eight points at the end of the first, the Cougars brought it within five at the 9:49 mark of the second quarter
The Panthers went up 36-16 at the 4:43 mark of the second quarter but the Cougars went on a 9-0 run to close out the half and cut the lead to 10 points.
CofC went on a 24-0 run in the fourth quarter and overtime periods, sparked by consecutive baskets by Perkins at the 5:09 mark of the fourth quarter.
Eady grabbed her sixth offensive board and strongly put back a missed shot to bring the score within single digits in the fourth quarter.
Freshman Nia Covington knocked down a mid-range jumper with 27 seconds left in the game to tie it up at 68 apiece.
Covington followed up her game-tying shot to send it to OT by scoring back-to-back buckets in overtime to give CofC a six-point lead.
Collins gave the Cougars the largest lead of the day at nine points after scoring a driving layup and hitting clutch free throws with less than a minute to play in OT.
