
Reserve Champion Finish For Cougars at CofC/Coastal Carolina Fall IHSA Classic

HUGER, S.C. – The College of Charleston equestrian team rode to a reserve champion finish placing second overall at the CofC/Coastal Carolina Fall IHSA Classic held at the White Horses Boarding and Training Facility on Saturday.
The Cougars were two points shy of the overall championship behind Clemson. Leading the way was senior Molly Coyle (Davidsonville, Md.), who won the Open Flat class.
Junior Beverly Davis (Concord, N.C.) was also a blue-ribbon winner in Intermediate Fences and placed second in Intermediate Flat.
In her last show of her collegiate career, senior Samantha Bledsoe (St. Charles, Ill.) won her Limit Over Fences class and placed third in her under saddle (Limit Flat) class. She will graduate in December with a bachelor's degree in exercise science from The College.
One of the team's horses, C Louis Z, was named Horse of the Day by the judges at CofC's first home show.
It was the last fall competition for the Cougars and they will return to action at the Georgia Southern Spring Horse Show on Feb. 1, 2020 at Evermore Farm in Brooklet, Ga.
