Equestrians To Open Spring Season at Georgia Southern Show

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston equestrian team gets ready to open its spring portion of its season at the Georgia Southern Show on Saturday, Feb. 2 at Evermore Farm in Brooklet, Ga.

The Cougars will have eight riders entered in this weekend's competition including junior Elizabeth High in Beginning Walk/Trot/Canter. Sophomore Lauren Duffy and junior Elif Caynak will both compete in Advanced Walk/Trot/Canter, while sophomore Allyson Pace, sophomore Makenna Grierson and freshman Jennifer Haines in the Novice Flat class.

"We are back at GSU this weekend and we can't be more excited to compete this spring semester," CofC Head Coach Natasha V. McCarthy said. "We've really put the hours in since we've been back from winter break and are looking forward to a strong first weekend on the road."

Veterans Samantha Barton, a senior, and Molly Coyle, a junior, round out the team members traveling for the spring opener as they both compete in Novice Fences.
