AUBURN, Ala. – The College of Charleston equestrian team closed out its competition season at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Zone Finals held at the Auburn University Equestrian Center on Saturday.
Junior Molly Coyle (Davidsonville, Md.) placed fifth in Novice Fences, while junior Samantha Bledsoe (St. Charles, Ill.) finished seventh in Walk/Trot/Canter Flat. The Top 2 riders in each class advanced to nationals.
"We had a wonderful time at IHSA Zones this year," CofC Head Coach Natasha V. McCarthy said. "Both Molly and Sam rode against stiff competition. The day was filled with learning experiences for all of us, which naturally fuels the team's excitement and determination to reclaim our Regional Championship spot for next year's competition season. We'll now take the summer to plan strategy and get organized with the returning team members, so we can all hit the ground running in August."
