
Charleston Places Fourth at Rose Bowl

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. --- Junior Patrick Eaton skippered the College of Charleston sailing team to a podium finish in B-Division as the Cougars kicked off the spring semester with a fourth-place performance at the ever-competitive Rose Bowl Regatta on Saturday and Sunday in Newport Beach, Calif.
The Cougars finished the regatta with 100 points to come in fourth behind Georgetown, St. Mary's and Cornell. Eaton and freshman crew Roxanne Snyder collected 47 points in B-Division with five top-five finishes and a win in race eight. Freshman Max Mayol skippered the Cougars to 53 points in A-Division alongside fellow rookie Lily DiPietro. The pair picked up six top-five finishes including back-to-back wins in races three and four.
Charleston is back on the water on February 15 and 16 with three regattas on the schedule that weekend: Southern Collegiate Offshore Regatta at the J. Stewart Walker Sailing Complex, SAISA Open in St. Petersburg, Fla. and the Nelson Roltsch Team Race in New Orleans, La.
