CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston women's soccer team (2-11-3, 1-5-1) fell 2-1 at home to Northeastern (7-7-1, 4-3) on Sunday afternoon. The seniors on the team were honored for their contributions and achievements in a ceremony before the match.
 
The Cougars got on the board first, scoring in the 16^th minute. Faith Slimmer took a free kick and fired a strike that hit the top of the post. The ball ball deflected to Bunny Nazari, who cleaned up the rebound and scored a goal to give CofC a 1-0 lead in the first half.
 
Just eight minutes before half time, the Huskies found the equalizer. In the 41^st minute, CofC's Olivia Freitas had a scoring chance saved that preserved the 1-1 score. The match would eventually enter half time with a 1-1 score.
 
In the 51^st minute, goalkeeper Meredith Holton made a save that kept the match knotted up at 1-1. Just over ten minutes later, the Huskies scored in the 62^nd minute to grab the lead. Northeastern was able to maintain that lead for the remainder of the match to hang on for the 2-1 victory.
