STORYLINES
- Charleston Basketball earned its second true road win of the season with a resounding 86-72 victory over Tulane in New Orleans on Dec. 7. The Cougars have two true road wins by Dec. 7 for the first time since 2017.
- CofC raced by Tulane behind 10 3-pointers and a season-high-tying 21 assists. The Cougars also had 21 dimes as a team in the Nov. 30 matchup against Tulane. Prior to that, CofC hadn't racked up that many assists in a game since tallying 22 against North Greenville on Dec. 13, 2015. The Cougars have two games in the same season with at least 21 assists for the first time since the 2010-11 campaign.
- The Cougars take on in-state foe Presbyterian for the 94th time in program history, but just the third time since 1989 and the third time as a Division I program. The two schools face off for the first time since Charleston opened the 2018-19 campaign with a season-opening 85-73 win over the Blue Hose.
- Charleston is seeking an eighth straight win in the series with Presbyterian. The Cougars enter Sunday's contest having won 22 of the last 25 meetings with the Blue Hose. Charleston hasn't lost at home to the Blue Hose since Feb. 19, 1987.
- Charleston is 15-2 in its last 17 games against in-state opponents.
- After sophomore Fah'mir Ali led the charge with a season-high four treys en route to the Cougars finishing with 10 as a team at Tulane, CofC has now made 10+ triples in six of nine games this season. At its current 9.7 made 3s per game clip, CofC is on pace to finish with 310 threes in a minimum 32 games this season. That would mark the most since the 2002-03 season and the second-most ever made in a single campaign.
- Along with the sheer volume of made 3s, CofC has been efficient from long range, shooting 37 percent. That ranks second among all CAA teams.
- CofC has pestered opponents on the offensive glass with 14.33 offensive boards per game, which ranks 11th nationally. The Cougars have snagged 10+ o-boards in every single game this season.
- Charleston is racking up 82.0 possessions per game. That leads the nation.
- When CofC holds opponents to fewer than 80 points this season, the Cougars are 6-0.
