Charleston Falls to No. 17 Gamecocks at CCSA Championships

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. --- The College of Charleston beach volleyball team pushed No. 17 South Carolina to three sets in three of the five flights but were unable to break through as the Cougars' season came to an end in a 5-0 setback to the Gamecocks on Saturday afternoon at the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association Championships.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Cougars fought for every point and stretched South Carolina to its limit on the second day of the CCSA Championships pushing the Gamecocks to three sets in each of the final three flights. The duos of Ella Reames/Maria Zweig and Amani Dunston/Emma Falk each bounced back from a 1-0 deficit at three's and five's respectively. Kyra Thompson and Marie Martinsen were unable to hold onto a 1-0 lead at four's.
PAIR OF THE DAY
Thompson and Martinsen earned a hard-fought one-set advantage at four's with a 21-19 win in set one and battled the rest of the way despite eventually falling in the three sets.
