Beach Volleyball Earns #5 Seed in Sun Belt Championship

FOLEY, Ala. – The College of Charleston beach volleyball team earned the No. 5 seed in the 2026 Sun Belt Beach Volleyball Championship and will open play vs. No. 4 UNCW on Thursday, April 23 at 11:00 a.m. est / 10:00 am cst.
All teams will compete in a three-day, double-elimination championship, with the winner earning a spot in the NCAA Beach Volleyball Championship.
Charleston earned the No. 5 seed after the Cougars finished their regular season with an overall record of 8-20 and a 2-4 record in the Sun Belt.
Charleston will meet UNCW for the seventh time this season on Thursday. UNCW has won all matches so far this season. Ella Duffner and Alivia Newberg have earned the edge on court 3 vs. the Seahawks this year, going 4-2 overall.
The winner of the Cougars vs. Seahawks will go on to play No. 1 Coastal Carolina in the second round. The loser will move to the consolation bracket on play on Friday, April 24.
