
Cougars Fall to No. 19 Hatters on Saturday

CHARLESTON, N.C. --- The College of Charleston beach volleyball team battled for every ball and pushed No. 19 Stetson to three sets in the fourth flight before ultimately falling to the Hatters, 5-0, on the first day of the CofC Beach Classic on Saturday afternoon at the Creekside Tennis & Swim Club.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hatters opened the match with a 21-12, 21-14 win at five's and after falling behind 1-0 at four's, rallied for a three-set win to take a 2-0 advantage. Straight set victories at one's, two's and three's would complete the sweep for Stetson.
PAIR OF THE DAY
Marie Martinsen and Jasmin Goei nearly came away with a point in the fourth flight after winning the first set, 21-19. The duo was locked in a tight battle in the second set which finished 21-19 in favor of the Hatters. Stetson's pairing then edged out Martinsen and Goei, 15-10, in the third to complete the rally.
