
CofC Athletics Announces Administrative Promotions for Five Staff Members

CHARLESTON, S.C. --- College of Charleston Athletics Director Matt Roberts announced administrative & leadership promotions for five staff members on Monday. The group receiving elevations includes Jessica Rodgers, Richard Bouknight, Chris Horschel, Derek Davis and Thomas Woelfel.
Entering her ninth year at The College, Rodgers has been named Assistant Director of Athletics for Revenue and Fan Engagement. She has been leading CofC's Marketing & Promotions department for nearly a decade, playing a vital role in The College's community outreach, revenue streams and fan experience. Rodgers will now absorb leadership roles overseeing Marketing, Ticketing and Communications & Creative Content.
Bouknight has overseen event and facility operations for CofC's 17 NCAA programs, guiding the management, planning and execution of events at TD Arena and Patriots Point since his arrival in April 2019. Bouknight has been promoted to the Assistant Director of Athletics for Facilities and Event Operations. In that role, he'll continue his exemplary facility operations management while adding oversight of CofC's Multimedia department.
Horschel has been a mainstay at The College for the past 13 years, serving the last nine as CofC's Director of Sports Medicine. He has been elevated to Assistant Director of Athletics for Sports Medicine. Horschel will continue helping student-athletes, coaches and staff safely navigate the COVID-19 pandemic while overseeing the Sports Medicine department and serving as the athletic trainer for the men's basketball and men's and women's golf programs.
Davis joined The Charleston Athletic Fund staff at CofC in April of 2013 overseeing the Annual Fund and the Development staff. Davis will now serve as the Assistant Athletic Director of Development - Annual Fund. He's been an integral part of the annual fund having record-breaking fundraising numbers in two of the last three years.
Woelfel came to The College in November of 2018, spending the better part of the last four years as CofC Athletics' Director of Business Operations. Woelfel develops and monitors the athletics department's budget. He has been named Assistant Director of Athletics for Business Affairs, adding sport oversight responsibilities for women's golf as well as Human Resources oversight to his role at The College.
