STORYLINES
- Charleston wraps up its homestand against Northeastern on Saturday, facing the Huskies for the 19th time in program history.
- CofC is 7-11 all-time vs. Northeastern and is looking to snap a 5-game losing skid to the Huskies, the longest active streak against any CAA opponent.
- A win Saturday would give CofC its first victory over Northeastern since Feb. 6, 2019. Three of Charleston's seven wins in the series with the Huskies have come in overtime games.
- CofC found itself in yet another nailbiting battle on Thursday night at TD Arena, falling just short to Hofstra by three. Charleston played in its seventh game decided by one possession this season, and is now 4-3 in such contests.
- Charleston is 6-4 in games decided by five or fewer points this season. The Cougars have played in 10 straight games decided by single digits.
- CofC got 44 points from its bench on Thursday night vs. Hofstra, accounting for 60.2 percent of its scoring output, the highest this season. Sophomore Nick Farrar exploded for a career-high 15 points and junior Brenden Tucker added a team-high 17 points, his most in CAA play thus far.
- Charleston outrebounded Hofstra on Thursday and hasn't been outpaced on the glass in a game since Dec. 12. The Cougars are the fourth-best rebounding team in the country and averaging the second-most offensive rebounds per game nationally this season. Entering Saturday, Charleston is averaging 10 more rebounds per game than Northeastern.
- Senior Dimitrius Underwood continued his CAA Defensive Player of the Year campaign on Thursday with four more steals to increase his total to a CAA-best 47 thefts. He's averaging 2.47 steals per game, the eighth-best clip in the country. He's only three steals shy of CofC's all-time single season steals list with more than a month of basketball left in the campaign.
- Charleston's freshmen class continues to shine with contributions from up and down the group. Most recently Raekwon Horton finished with 12 points off the bench. A freshmen has reached double figures in 16 of CofC's 19 games.
- Despite a tough outing vs. Hofstra, Reyne Smith is having a historic season with 56 triples. He now has four games with 6+ 3s. Only Andrew Goudelock had more in a season since 2010. Against Hofstra, Smith failed to hit a triple for just the third time this season. The last two games following a game without a 3-pointer, Smith torched the nets for at least five triples to bounce back.
