RICHMOND, VA. – College of Charleston senior midfielder Grace Powell was named to the All-CAA first team, and sophomore defender Shae Yocum and freshman midfielder Bubbles Dever also garnered postseason honors in voting by the conference's head coaches.
Yocum earned a spot on the third team, and Dever was chosen to the all-rookie squad. Powell is the first Cougar selected to the first team since Laura Ortega in 2018.
Powell, a local product from Daniel Island and Pinewood Prep, moved up two spots from her berth on the third team a year ago. She led the Cougars and is tied for fifth in the CAA with eight goals and added two assists for 18 points. Powell is also third in the league with 52 shots and tied for seventh with 25 on target.
She finished her outstanding career with 14 goals and 30 points while playing in 63 games with 61 starts.
Yocum (Point Pleasant, N.J./Point Pleasant Borough) was a strong and tenacious back line leader who excelled in 1v1 situations. Her play spearheaded a Charleston defense that allowed only 23 goals in 18 games including six shutouts. Yocum played the full 90 minutes 12 times and totaled 1420 on the year, just seven behind Powell for the team lead.
Dever (Leonardtown, Md./Leonardtown) made an immediate impact as a freshman, starting seven times and scoring two goals while adding four assists to tie for second on the team. She started her career with a bang, scoring a goal in her collegiate debut against Alabama A&M and had a two-assist game against South Carolina State.
