Women’s Atlantic Coast Dinghy Semifinals

CRANSTON, R.I. --- The College of Charleston women's sailing team battled its way to an eighth-place finish at the ACC Women's Semifinals this weekend to book a ticket to the Women's Atlantic Coast Championship on October 15 and 16 in King's Point, N.Y.

The Cougars finished the regatta with 174 points from 10 rotations including a seventh-place showing in B-Division with 62 points. Emma Tallman skippered Charleston to three top-five performances in B-Division including a victory in race three alongside senior crew Roxanne Snyder. Snyder crewed the first six races with Rowan Schanley rotating in for the final four. Juniors Grace Squires and Kalea Woodard accumulated 112 points and turned in a trio of top-10 finishes in A-Division.

Charleston returns to the water on Saturday, October 8 when the Cougars' dinghy team travels to St. Mary's, Md. for the two-day ACC Coed Semifinals. The Cougars' offshore team is slated to travel to Larchmont, N.Y. to compete at the Larchmont Intercollegiate Offshore Regatta.
