11/13/2022 6:50:00 PM

CHARLESTON, S.C. - After testing #1 North Carolina on the road in Chapel Hill on Friday night, the College of Charleston men's basketball team returns home to TD Arena as they welcome the defending A-10 champions Richmond to Charleston on Monday night. Action is set for 7:00 p.m.

STORYLINES
  • The Cougars and the Spiders prepare to meet for both program's third contest of the season as well as the Spiders' first road contest of the season.
  • CofC is 1-1 in 2022-23 after taking on the #1 North Carolina Tar Heels Friday night in Chapel Hill. Charleston held a 50-43 halftime edge against the nation's top-ranked team while outrebounding the Tar Heels 35-32 to put the country on notice of Our City.
  • Second year head coach Pat Kelsey has been running a ten-player rotation in the squad's first two games with all ten players contributing at least three points and averaging 10 minutes
  • The Cougars have shared the scoring wealth, with Reyne Smith pacing the team with 24 in the 85-78 win over Chattanooga while Dalton Bolon scored a career-high as a Cougar with 16 at North Carolina. Ante Brzvoic had a quiet three points vs. Chattanooga before erupting for 15 points in Chapel Hill.
  • Raekwon Horton was featured on SportsCenter Top Ten following a monster slam dunk over the Carolina defense at the Dean Dome.
  • The last time the Cougars and Spiders met was December 14, 2019 when the Spiders took the 78- 71 victory in Richmond. Spiders Andre Gustavson and Matt Grace are the only remaining players on either roster to participate in the contest.
  • The defending A10 champions are coming off of a 68-55 victory over Northern Iowa on Friday night, giving both teams the same amount of turnaround for tonight's contest. Jason Nelson scored a career-high 21 points—the most by a Richmond freshman in a November game since 2017. Jason Roche also contributed 14 points, shooting 4-6 from three-point range.
  • The Cougars have averaged 85.5 points per game through two contests while Richmond has averaged 68.5. Richmond wins the overall rebounding battle statistically entering the contest, averaging 41.0 a contest compared to the Cougars 35.0.
