Charleston Tips Off Three-Game Homestand Monday vs. Drexel

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Charleston comes back home to face Drexel in a rescheduled makeup game at TD Arena on Monday night. The Dragons are the final CAA opponent CofC has yet to play this season. The two square off at 7 p.m. ET on FloSports.

STORYLINES
- Charleston returns home for a three-game homestand at TD Arena beginning Monday night vs. Drexel. The Cougars are 8-4 overall at home this season, winning two of their last three at TD. Junior Brenden Tucker has been dominant at home, averaging 14.3 PPG on 55 percent shooting from deep and 50 percent shooting from the field.
- CofC owns a 15-7 edge in the all-times series with Drexel, winning six of the last seven matchups. Charleston has won three straight games at home against the Dragons.
- Despite the loss to UNCW, CofC outrebounded the Seahawks by 13. Charleston scored 21 second-chance points on 14 offensive rebounds. The Cougars rank fourth nationally in offensive rebounding behind UConn, TCU and South Carolina State. Only Baylor has more games with at least 8 offensive rebounds this season (24) than Charleston (23).
- Following the battle at UNCW, 12 of CofC's 23 games this season have now been decided by single digits, with the Cougars going 7-5 in those contests. Charleston has racked up five one-possession victories this season.
- Senior John Meeks scored 21 points on 7-of-14 shooting at UNCW. With a 3-pointer in the second half, he surpassed the 1,000 career point mark. He's reached double figures in 16 of 20 games this season and posted four 20+ point performances. Meeks added a season-high nine rebounds in the loss to the Seahawks. Since returning from injury before league play, he's making 59.5 percent of his 2-point field goal attempts and averaging 16.2 PPG.
- Freshman Raekwon Horton has come on strong of late, gaining confidence. He's scored at least seven points in four of the last five games, averaging 8.0 PPG and shooting 67 percent. After he scored 11 points at UNCW, a freshman has scored in double figures in 20 of CofC's 23 games.
- CofC's deep bench has been effective of late. The Cougars' bench is outscoring opponent's reserves by 65 points combined over the last three games (21.7 PPG).
- Pat Kelsey enters Monday's game vs. Drexel one win shy of the 200-career win mark in just his 10th campaign as a head coach.
- Freshman Reyne Smith leads the entire country in free throw percentage (min. 2.5 makes per game), shooting 94.8 percent from the foul line. He hasn't missed a free throw since Dec. 16. Smith is 11 threes shy of breaking the all-time CofC freshmen single season record.
- Senior Dimitrius Underwood is just the 15th player since 1992 at CofC to record at least 53 steals in a season. Underwood is one of eight in that group with 100+ rebounds.
- CofC ranks second nationally in possessions per game with 77.6, trailing Morgan St.'s 77.9.
