STORYLINES
- CofC wraps up the regular season with its fourth road game in eight days. The Cougars are 2-1 on the trip following the one-point loss at Drexel. CofC has now played in 15 games decided by five points or fewer in 29 contests after the Drexel matchup. Charleston is 9-6 in those 15 games.
- The last time Hofstra and CofC faced off, the Cougars fell by three in a tight battle at TD Arena. Junior Brenden Tucker led four Cougars in double figures with 17 points.
- CofC is now 7-8 all-time against Hofstra heading into Monday's tilt. The Cougars are seeking their first road win at Hofstra since Feb. 3, 2018 and just the third such victory in program history.
- The two are set to square off again in a week at the CAA Tournament in Washington, D.C. as the Cougars are locked in to the No. 6 seed and Hofstra is cemented as the No. 3 seed. Against projected seeds 4-9, CofC is 8-2 this season.
- CofC has been scorching hot offensively on this eight-day road trip, averaging 87 points while shooting 55.6 percent from the field and hitting 24 threes. The Cougars have shot better than 50 percent in all three games.
- After shooting 58 percent of the field at Northeastern, CofC shot 57.6 percent and scored a CAA-play high 99 points in the win over Delaware. Four Cougars scored at least 14 points and all 10 Cougars who saw the floor found the scoring column as CofC hit 11 threes and made 80 percent of its foul shots. It marked the most points for CofC in a league game in regulation in more than 10 seasons.
- A 17th win on Monday for Pat Kelsey and CofC would match the most the Cougars won in legendary coach John Kresse's first season at the helm in 1979-80.
- The Cougars' bench continues to wear out opponents, accounting for 30 of the 99 points against Delaware. CofC is +131 in bench points over the last nine games (a 5-3 stretch for the Cougars). CofC's freshmen five scored 56 combined points in the win over Delaware, with three of the five coming off the pine. A freshman has scored in double figures in 24 games this season.
- Dimitrius Underwood secured his third double-double in the last four games and was just four assists away from back-to-back triple doubles at Delaware. Underwood is just the 15th Cougar in the last decade with three double-doubles in the same season and he's done it all in the span of a week. Underwood reached the 200-board mark at Drexel after tallying in a season-high 23 points, seven boards and six assists. That makes him the first CofC player in 30 years to have 300 points, 200 rebounds, 100 assists and 60 steals in the same campaign. His 65 steals rank eighth all-time at CofC.
- Freshmen Raekwon Horton is playing the best basketball of his career on the road trip entering Monday, averaging 10.3 PPG & 6.3 RPG while shooting 56 percent over the last three games.
