
Charleston Heads to New Orleans for ICSA Team Race National Championship

CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The College of Charleston sailing team will descend on New Orleans to compete for a trio of Intercollegiate Collegiate Sailing Association National Championships over the next 11 days beginning with the ICSA Team Race National Championship which runs Monday, May 16 through Wednesday, May 18 on the waters of Lake Pontchartrain.
The Cougars will be competing for the program's fourth team race national championship and first since winning back-to-back titles in 2017 and 2018. Charleston qualified for the championship regatta after posting an unblemished 10-0 record in a dominating victory at the SAISA Open Team Race Championships in April.
Axel Stordahl, Pierce Ornstein and Brandon Geller will skipper for the Cougars with Lucy Klempen, Noelle Owen and Kalea Woodard crewing. Max Anker, Anna Sherry and Jack Sutton will be alternates for Charleston.
