
Charleston to Sail in SAISA Fall Conference Championship Regattas

CHARLESTON, S.C. --- College of Charleston sailing will take part in the SAISA Fall Championships hosted by the University of South Florida this weekend.
Last time out, skippers Emma Tallman and Emily Alfortish led the Cougars to 171 points and a sixth-place finish at the Yale Women's Trophy Regatta alongside crew members Clara Murphy, Rowan Schanley, Chloe Hudgins and Paige Lubrano.
A Division saw the Cougars post 64 points as Tallman sailed with Murphy (races 1-4) and Schanley (5-12) for the fourth-lowest score and six top-three finishes. B Division saw Alfortish sail with Hudgins (races 1-9) and Lubrano (10-12) for a top-half score in the regatta.
In the ACC Open Finals, Charleston finished 10th among a field of 18 led by skippers Noah Zittrer, Alex Gonzalez and Benjamin Dufour and crew members Aiden Iaconis, Lucy Klempen, Garrett Grenauer and Noelle Owen.
Dufour, Grenauer (races 1-9) and Owen (10-14) posted the sixth-best score in B Division at 108 with a pair of podium finishes.
This weekend, Charleston will send Grace Squires, Noelle Owen, Chloe Hudgins, Emma Tallman, Lucy Klempen and Rowan Schanley to the SAISA Women's Fall Championship. Noah Zittrer, Klempen, Aiden Iaconis, Benjamin Dufour, Owen and Garrett Grenauer will compete in the SAISA Open Fall Championship.
