
Cougars Control Glass in Loss to Wyoming

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The College of Charleston men's basketball team fell to Wyoming 67-60 in the second round of the Myrtle Beach Invitational Friday at the HTC Center in Conway.
Ben Burnham started the game with a triple right up the middle off the dish from Frankie Policelli and followed it up with an and-one opportunity for the early 6-0 lead.
The Cougars went cold after that, going 1-for-7 from the field while Wyoming went 5-for-7. Charleston steadily regained momentum with buckets from Mayar Wol, Ante Brzovic and Reyne Smith to tie it 18-18 with seven minutes left in the half.
Burnham took over the half, draining back-to-back threes and making several clutch defensive plays. He ended the frame with 15 points and five rebounds as the Cougars entered the locker room down 30-28.
Bryce Butler started the second half with a charge and driving layup before Evan Kilminster scored his first collegiate points on a three as the teams traded points to make it 35-35 with 15 left to play.
After a taking a 43-37 lead, Wyoming went on a four-minute scoring drought to allow Charleston to take a 47-46 edge on a 7-0 run highlighted by a Butler triple with eight minutes remaining.
In a game that featured 13 lead changes, the teams traded points through the final minute of play. The Cougars struggled during the final two minute of play going 1-for-9 from the field to ultimately fall 67-60.
