
Bench Production Leads Cougars to Crosstown Rivalry Win

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston won their 12th consecutive game against crosstown rival The Citadel on Thursday night in TD Arena 86-71.
After a back-and-forth start, the Cougars found their rhythm going 4-for-5 from the field highlighted by an alley-oop from CJ Fulton to James Scott.
The Cougars maintained their style of play, going on an 11-0 run while the Bulldogs struggled from the field going over four minutes without a field goal. An Ante Brzovic three with just under eight minutes ignited the sold-out TD Arena crowd.
The Cougars entered the locker room up 44-32 following two identical sequences of James Scott blocks leading to Reyne Smith threes. Scott totaled three blocks in under a minute.
Scott set a new career-high of eight points out of the locker room with yet another dunk of a pass from Fulton. He would finish with 14 on the night, 12 of which came from dunks.
Frankie Policelli scored his 1,000th career point on a three-pointer with eight minutes to play. Policelli found his rhythm, scoring back-to-back buckets after his 1,000 tally to help the Cougars break away to take an 18-point lead at 72-56 and never look back.
