Box Score ELON, N.C. – The College of Charleston men's basketball team won their 26
th game of the season on Thursday at Elon 88-66. The Cougars' 26 wins are most wins by any team in the country this season.
The Cougars and Phoenix went point-for-point to start the contest with the team's tied 8-8 at the first media timeout. Both teams went on a two-minute scoring drought midway through the frame before both teams made back-to-back triples, giving the Cougars a 15-14 edge with ten minutes remaining in the half.
Charleston made four straight from the field to take a 29-22 lead with just under to five go in the half, the largest advantage for either team. The Cougars held on and extended the advantage to take a 44-32 lead entering the locker room.
Ante Brzovic led Charleston with nine points at the half while
Reyne Smith,
Dalton Bolon and
Pat Robinson III all had six each.
Ryan Larson started the second half with a trey and book ended a 9-0 run with another to push a 53-34 lead. The Phoenix went on a 6-0 run of their own before a Smith sank back-to-back threes to make it 65-48. The closing minutes of the second half resembles the opening minutes of the first with the team's trading shots from the behind the arc.
Larson hit the team's 17th triple of the night with four minutes left in the contest, a new season-high for the Cougars. A late 10-0 run, highlighted by team's 18
th triple from
Ben Burnham, sealed the 88-66 road victory.

- Smith paced the Cougars with 15 points, followed by Larson and Burnham with 13 each. Bolon was the final Cougar in double-digits with 12 points.
- Brzovic grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds while Scott tied a season-high 7 assists. Babacar Faye had nine rebounds.
