
Men's Basketball Set for CAA Semifinals

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The College of Charleston men's basketball team will compete in the CAA semifinals for the second straight season, taking on the Towson Tigers tonight at 8:30 p.m. The contest will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network.

STORYLINES
- Charleston finished the regular season with an overall record of 28-3 to lead the nation in wins and a 16-2 conference record.
- Hofstra's 16-2 matching record and head-to-head win over 16-2 Charleston earned the Pride the No. 1 seed and placed the Cougars at No. 2.
- Hofstra and Charleston are the first duo of CAA teams to both reach 16 conference wins in the same season; only three CAA teams had achieved 16-2 regular season conference records prior to this season. Both teams earned a share of the regular season title.
- Charleston and Towson will meet for the third time this season in the semifinals. The Cougars have won both contests, an overtime win on New Year's Eve in Towson and a comeback victory on February 23 in Charleston.
- Six different Cougars scored in double figures during the February 23 meeting, led by Reyne Smith with 13. Charleston's depth has been a key to the program's success - the Cougars rank third in the nation in bench points per game (34.03). The Cougars have won eight straight by an average of 24 ppg.
- Five Cougars were recognized on All-CAA teams, led by Pat Robinson III as the Sixth Man of the Year. Dalton Bolon was named to the All-CAA first team while Ryan Larson and Ante Brzovic were named to the All-CAA third team. Jaylon Scott earned a spot on the CAA All-Defensive team.
- This is Charleston's second straight CAA semifinal appearance and their 29 wins are the most in the country.
- Towson defeated Delaware 86-60 in Sunday's quarterfinals led by Nicolas Timberlake with 19 points. Charles Thompson added 17. The Tigers and Blue Hens split during the regular season.
- Charleston defeated Towson in two tight battles this season, a 76-74 overtime win in Towson and a 83-75 comeback win in Charleston. The Cougars were down by as much as ten points in the meeting two weeks ago.
- Timberlake led the Tigers All-CAA picks with a spot on the first team while Thompson and Timberlake were named to the second team. Thompson joined Scott on the CAA All-Defensive team.
- The semifinal contest will be broadcast on CBS Sports with Dave Ryan, Pete Gillen and Tina Cervasio on the call. As always, fans can listed to the Voice of Cougars Everett German on the Varsity App.
