KINGS POINT, N.Y. – College of Charleston women's sailing wrapped another strong spring season this week in the 2023 ICSA Women's Fleet Race national championships, placing 13th overall posting 215 points and second among SAISA teams in the field.
Charleston entered the competition ranked 12th in the nation after claiming a pair of SAISA titles on home waters and taking part in the Women's Team Race National Championships on the west coast.
Led by a rotation of Grace Squire,
Emma Tallman,
Emily Alfortish,
Chloe Hudgins,
Roxanne Snyder and
Marina Dryer, the Cougars posted 109 points in Division A then 106 in Division B and placing among the top-10 seven, finishing as high as second.
All 10 races were completed Thursday on day one of competition due to a lack of wind for more racing Friday.
Charleston's women's fleet season ends in the national title for a 20th-straight season. The spring saw the Cougars claim two SAISA crowns on their home water as well as a second place finish at the Navy Women's Spring Fleet Race.
