Cougars Fall to Seahawks in Regular Season Finale

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The College of Charleston softball team dropped the final game of the regular season to UNCW by a score of 6-2 in the Cougars' last appearance at Patriots Point.
The Seahawks struck first in the opening inning due to a Cougar fielding error, but Malaka Belser doubled to centerfield in the bottom of the frame to bring home Karlee Hughes and tie the game.
Payton Lemire fanned four through the first four innings, but the Seahawks rallied for five runs in the fifth to retake the lead.
Mia Dittoe hit an RBI single in the sixth frame to bring home Hughes again and account for the Cougars' final run.

The Cougars are the No. 6 seed in the CAA Tournament and will play their opening round game against No. 7 Stony Brook on Tuesday at 2:30 in Hempstead, N.Y.
