ORLANDO, Fla. - The College of Charleston marketing and external operations team was named the NACMA Group II Marketing Team of the Year announced on Monday at the NACDA Convention in Orlando.
The Marketing Team of the Year, presented by PrestoSports, is awarded to the institution with the highest sum of the 20 "Best Of" Awards categories. There are Marketing Team of the Year Award winners in Group 1, Group 2 and Group 3 based on the size and resources of the institution.
"Winning Marketing Team of the Year is a testament to the hard work by everyone in our department over several years. It is such an honor to be recognized among our peers at other schools across the country," said Assistant Director of Athletics for Revenue and Fan Engagement Jessica Rodgers. "Our goal every day is to provide the best possible fan experience and this award only motivates us more to keep doing that!"
There are four overall categories, each of which has five subcategories for which a Gold, Silver, and Bronze winner is awarded across all three (3) groups. The winners in four (4) of the subcategories are chosen by the NACMA membership and referred to as the "People's Choice." Those "People's Choice" categories are Single-Game Attendance/Sell Out Campaign, Student Engagement, Social Media Campaign/ Initiative and Quick Sales Campaign. The categories and associated point totals are listed below:
- Fan Development (25 points)
- Brand Management (25 points)
- Revenue Generation (25 points)
- Overall Campaigns (75 points)
The highest scoring team in each group, after all 150 points are tallied, is named the Marketing Team of the Year.
