Blouin to Represent US at Pan Am Games

BLUE POINT, Ny. – College of Charleston sailing assistant coach Conner Blouin won the 2023 Pan Am Games US qualifier over the weekend at the Sayville Yacht Club, earning the bid to represent the United States this fall in Chile.

"I am so excited to represent the United States and College of Charleston at the upcoming Pan American Games in Chile," said Blouin. "This will by my third-consecutive games and is the culmination of a lot of work and hours committed to reaching my goals. Hopefully I can make the most of my time between now and the games to be fully prepared to win the event."

Just as he did at the Singlehanded Championships in June, Blouin dominated with 26 points – 12 better than the rest of the field – finishing lower than fourth just once while crossing the finish line first in six of the 11 races. He began the weekend with three-straight first-place finishes then closed strong with three more over the final five races.

The 2023 Pan Am Games are scheduled to run October 25 through November 5 in Santiago, Chile as Blouin will take on seven other sailors in the Sunfish class. Blouin will be making his third-straight appearance at the Pan Am Games representing the United States after placing fourth in 2019.
