Charleston Wins Three Regattas to Start Fall

CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston sailing swept the weekend in its first three races of the fall.
The Cougars won the SAISA North Top 6 Invite. CofC's A boat had 37 points, its B boat collected 27 points and the C boat finished with 38 points for 102 total. Clemson (130) and NC State (166) rounded out the top three.
Isabella Shakespeare and Ashley Alfortish finished first and second in the SAISA Women's Singlehanded Championship in Miami. Shakespeare totaled 23 points while Alfortish had 27. In the SAISA Open Singlehanded Championship, Will Rucker (33 points) and Tommy Kraak (36 points) finished in the top two positions. Connor Demming and Elliott Lipp placed fourth and sixth out of 15 racers with 40 and 51 points, respectively.
Charleston hosts the SAISA Open and Women's Top 9 Sept. 19-20 while traveling to Annapolis to race in Shields Navy 44.
