SWEET BRIAR, Va. – No. 2 College of Charleston equestrian lost to No. 1 Sweet Briar, 7-3, Friday afternoon.
"Overall, very pleased with our second meet of the season on the road," said head coach Natasha Vitkovic. "The scores were close, however, just a few points here and there that just slipped away from us. We leave Virginia learning a tremendous amount, ready to perfect more of the details. We're at a great place in this stage of the game for this new team, which is exciting. Thanks for Sweet Briar for a beautiful day in the Virginia mountains, we thoroughly enjoyed this experience."
Dylan Bazaar, Olivia Lonneman, Kathryn McCarthy, Hailey Pendl, Camilla Murray and Caroline Berg represented the Cougars in fences while Lonneman, McCarhy, Pendl, Murray, Berg and Sydney Callagy competed on the flat. Charleston totaled 342 points on the flat and 337 points in fences. Bazaar posted Charleston's highest score of the day, an 82 on the flat.
The NCEA team competes again on Nov. 2 against Dartmouth in Hanover, N.H.
