Men's Basketball Hosts Field of 68 Tip-Off

CHARLESTON, S.C. - College of Charleston men's basketball, now 2-0 for the first time since 2021-22, hosts the Field of 68 Opening Tip-Off November 15-17 at TD Arena. The Cougars welcome Florida Atlantic and Liberty for the second annual round-robin weekend hosted by The Field of 68 Media Network. The weekend slate will feature FAU vs Charleston on Friday, FAU vs Liberty on Saturday, and Liberty vs Charleston on Sunday.

STORYLINES
- The Cougars are coming off a 86-71 win over South Florida. CAA Preseason Player of the Year Ante Brzovic scored a career-high 34 points while shooting 60% from the field, earning CAA Player of the Week honors for his performance. He added nine rebounds, four assists and two blocks. His 12 made field goals are tied for the fourth most in a single game in the Cougar's Division I era and tied for ninth most points in a single game in school history. He currently leads the nation in points per game after the opening week of play (30.5).
- CJ Fulton posted 16 points for his second straight double-digit scoring contest to go with six assists and five rebounds, while Deywilk Tavarez rounded out the double-digit scorers with 12 points for his second straight double-digit contest. The sophomore also grabbed six rebounds.
- Entering the contest, the Cougars rank 16th in nation in free throw attempts per game (30.5) and 17th in free throws made per game (22.5). Chris Mack's team has held opponents to a .234 three-point percentage, good for 30th in the nation.
- Florida Atlantic is coming off a 100-94 loss to Central Florida on Tuesday. Leland Walker led the Owls with 20 points, five rebounds, and five assists. The Owls have scored scored 90+ points in each of their first three games.
- The Owls won last season's match-up 90-74 in Boca Raton. Charleston's Brzovic and Fulton and FAU's Tre Carroll are the only returning players from the contest. Brzovic had 12 points and nine rebounds in 24 minutes of play, while Fulton recorded five points, six rebounds and three assists in 33 minutes of play. Carroll went 0-2 from the field in three minutes of action
- Ante Brzovic returns for his third season in Charleston. A two-time All-CAA selection, he was named the unanimous CAA Preseason Player of the Year, Blue Ribbon CAA Preseason Player of the Year, and and to the Bracketeer.Org All-American Watch List
- Brzovic, who currently has 1,390 career points, opened the season vs. Southern Illinois with a 27 point, nine rebound, and four assist outing in 36 minutes of play.
- The Croatian scored the most points of any CAA player on opening day (27) and currently leads the nation with 30.5 points per game.
- Florida Atlantic enters their second season in the American Athletic Conference ranked fifth in the conference preseason poll. Graduate guard KyKy Tandy was named AAC Preseason Second Team All-Conference
- Led by first year head coach John Jakus, FAU moved to 2-1 after Tuesday's setback in Orlando. The Owls shot 41% from three-point range and and had five double digit scorers.
