
Cougars Suffer Setback in Field of 68 Finale

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston men's basketball team suffered their first loss of the season in a 68-47 setback to Liberty on Sunday night to conclude the Field of 68 Tip-Off.

- Liberty started the game on 10-4 run before back-to-back triples from Deywilk Taverez and Ante Brzvoic evened the contest. Charleston swung the momentum, sparking an 8-0 run and causing Liberty to go 1-7 from the field during the stretch.
- Charleston took a six-point lead at 20-14 with ten minutes to play in the first half before going cold from the field for nearly four minutes.
- The teams traded points to end the frame and enter the locker room tied at 29-29. The Cougars shot 57% from behind the arc in the half and were led by Brzovic with eight points.
- The Flames started the second half on a 12-0 run and bolstered the lead to 52-33 with ten minutes to play. The deficit was too much to overcome as the Cougars fell 68-47 for their first loss of the season.
- Lazar Djokovic had a career high 15 points and eight rebounds. Brzovic added ten points and seven rebounds.
- CJ Fulton dished out four assists.
- Charleston's 47 points are their least scored since November 16 vs. Central Florida
- The Cougars, now 3-1, return to action on Wednesday at crosstown rival The Citadel
- Action is set for 7:00 p.m. at McAlister Field House.
