
Cougars Look to Bounce Back vs. Northern Kentucky

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The College of Charleston men's basketball team, now 4-2 on the season, welcomes Northern Kentucky to TD Arena on Wednesday, November 27 for Military Appreciation & First Responders Day presented by Belfor Property Restoration. Action is set for 1:00 p.m.

- The Cougars are coming off a 91-53 loss at Rhode Island on Sunday. AJ Smith led Charleston with ten points while Derrin Boyd added 9 points, 5 rebounds and four assists. Chris Mack's squad struggled shooting the basketball, going 23-67 (34.3%) from the field against the Rams.
- Ante Brzovic, the CAA Preseason Player of the Year and Lou Henson Award 'Early Season' Watch List honoree, currently ranks 13th in the nation in points per game (22.7), 13th in total double-doubles (3), and 27th in defensive rebounds per game (8.00).
- CJ Fulton serves as floor manager for the Cougars, leading the team with 5.2 assists per game. He's totaled 26 assists on the year with just five turnovers.
- This will be the first ever meeting between the Cougars and the Norse.
- Northern Kentucky, led by sixth year head coach Darrin Horn, is 1-4 on the season after picking up their first win over Kentucky State 85-59 on Saturday. The Norse were picked to finish third in this season's Horizon League Preseason Poll.
- Josh Dilling is the leading scorer for NKU through five games, posting a pair of 18-point nights. Dilling hit four threes vs. Nicholls State and is averaging 12.0 PPG. He leads NKU in made threes with 11 while shooting 31% from behind the arc.
- Northern Kentucky has outrebounded its opponent in four of its first five games.
- Charleston men's basketball will celebrate active and retired members of the military, as well as First Responders in our community at Wednesday's contest. On-court presentations and activations will focus on the brave men and women who serve our country.
