BOSTON, Mass. – The College of Charleston men's basketball travels to Northeastern on Thursday, February 15 for their only contest vs. the Huskies this season. Action is set for 7:00 p.m. in Boston.
HOW TO WATCH
- Charleston has won three straight contests, including an 80-70 win over Drexel on Saturday in Charleston. The victory moved the Cougars over the Dragons in the league standings and into a tie for first place with less than a month to play in the regular season.
- The Cougars won both meetings between the programs a season ago, 87- 61 win in Boston. Returners led CofC in both meeting with Ben Burnham contributing a team an -high 15 points in Boston and Ante Brzovic dropping 23 in Charleston, followed by Burnham with 16.
- Frankie Policelli had a week on both sides of the ball, recording a season-high 16 rebounds vs. N.C. A&T and followed it up with a season-high 22 points vs. Drexel.
- Charleston currently ranks seventh in the nation in bench points per game (32.92), 14th in total rebounds per game (40.56), third in three-point attempts per game (31.4) and 13th in made three-pointers per game (10.2). Individually, CJ Fulton leads the country in assist/turnover ratio with 103 assists to just 23 turnovers. He has gone back-to-back contests without a turnover and has not committed more than one since January 13 vs. Monmouth.
- Reyne Smith is currently tied for second all-time in career three-pointers made at Charleston with 253. One more against the Huskies would move him past Tony White Jr. into sole possession for second place.
- Northeastern is coming off back-to-back league wins over Campbell and Monmouth after losing four straight.
- Chris Doherty leads the Huskies with 13.4 points per game followed by Harold Woods with 10.4. Doherty also paces the Huskies on the boards with 6.9 rebounds per game.
- In the win over Monmouth, Northeastern's starters combined for all but 10 points on the day, led by Doherty/s 19 points on 8-of-15 shooting along with seven rebounds. He was joined in double digits by Rashad King (16 points, five rebounds, seven assists), Luka Sakota ( 15 points, three assists), and Woods (10 points, nine rebounds).
